Get Ready, Get Set, Get Married!

You have never been quite so prepared for anything in your life. You've attended to all the details, big and small. Then one day you wake up, and it is the evening before your wedding! With all eyes on the bride you need to look great, which means being radiant, relaxed, and ready to start a brand new existence with the person with whom you've chosen to spend your life. Your hair, nails, makeup, dress – and how you look in that dress – are all part of becoming the bride you want to be on that special day. The pictures taken on that day remain part of your life forever, it's therefor very important to look and feel your best.
As important as all the preparations throughout the past months the night before your special day needs some extra attention too. Sleeping well before your wedding in a tranquil and comfortable surrounding is essential to help you look your most beautiful. Not only will a good rest leave you refreshed, but your body will appreciate an extra dose of energy for the day ahead.
Spoil yourself and spend your pre-wedding night at the serene 4 star Bakenhof Guesthouse, in any way that makes you feel good. Make space for quiet time alone or enjoy with those people with whom you can kick off your shoes and relax. You may opt for a good book, a long warm bath enhanced by soothing, fragrant candle light and aromatherapy, soft music or gentle stretching. Whether your choice of company is yourself, your parents, your bridesmaids or your fiancé, this is a wonderful time to meditate, recount memories, tell stories or share dreams. Being in a luxurious and peaceful environment will contribute to your well-being and put you in a positive and right frame of mind to enjoy the following day.

In the heart of the Winelands and in close proximity to Wellington, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek, Bakenhof Guesthouse is situated on a private 155 hectare wine and grape farm, a convenient and scenic 50 minute drive from Cape Town, and close proximity to various wedding venues . A tree-lined driveway guides you through manicured vineyards on a 2 km stretch of private tarred driveway where the only traffic rule is to make way for the resident geese, which patrol and cross the road as they please. Soak up incredible views of Table Mountain from the patio and be greeted by lush gardens and the tranquil sounds of nature.

Our lovely Rose (or Garden) Suite serve as group accommodation for 4 adults and has an own entrance with large doors opening onto a private patio and garden. Here guests can enjoy the handy in-room kitchenette to prepare own snacks and drinks, or to have dinner in a private atmosphere.

Awake the morning you say “I do” with birdsong and enjoy delicious breakfast with your three friends in a cosy environment. Dress and prepare for the event in-style by offering your hairdresser and make-up artist a suitable and spacious environment to make you look the perfect picture. On average you will be photographed at least 1000 times by friends, families and your official photographer. Choose the luxurious areas, panoramic views and lush gardens of Bakenhof as backdrop to your pre-wedding photos.

Then comes your first night as Husband and Wife – your wedding night is an once-in-a-lifetime experience. Not all honeymoon suites are made equally – choose Bakenhof because you deserve the best on your wedding night! Our luxurious Honeymoon Suite is spacious and private and decorated in natural hues of white, enhanced with scented flowers and candles. A complimentary bottle of bubbly and midnight snacks await, and a late breakfast can be served in-room, or on your own private patio. As a further option we offer up to twelve of your VIP guests luxurious overnight accommodation at a discounted group rate. Continue the Feast the next morning by meeting for a hearty champagne breakfast, or opt for a romantic picnic basket to be delivered to the Suites in the morning.
